5700 km of cycling, from Vancouver to St. John

A friend of mine, Daniel Charbonneau, an accomplished globetrotter who has visited more than 80 countries, will be cycling across Canada at the end of April, an adventure.

5700 km of cycling, from Vancouver to St. John

Here is an overview of his trip, if the French does not put you off, you can follow him on his Facebook Conférence voyage.

Without going into too much detail, I leave you one of his stops along his path.

Vancouver, BC
Welcome to Vancouver, starting point of the crossing, one of the most culturally diverse cities in the world, located on the west coast of Canada, surrounded by the ocean, coastal rainforest and high mountains.

Kelowna, BC
Kelowna, located on the shores of Okanagan Lake, in the heart of the Okanagan region of British Columbia. Kelowna is surrounded not only by forests and mountains, but also by numerous orchards and vineyards that produce the fresh fruit and wine that make the region famous.

Banff, AB
Banff is a seaside resort and one of Canada's most popular tourist destinations. Known for its mountainous surroundings and hot springs, it is a favorite destination for outdoor sports.

Calgary, AB
Calgary is a thriving cosmopolitan city best known for the world-famous Calgary Stampede.

Regina, SK
Regina, the capital of Saskatchewan, was originally called Wascana. There is also a significant portion of Canada's past and present at the RCMP Heritage Center and at Depot Academy, home to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). RCMP members have been trained here since 1885 and today, Depot Academy remains the only RCMP training site in Canada.

Moose Jaw, SK
Moose Jaw is home to Moose Jaw, the base of the famous Snow Birds, an Air Force freestyle flying team. Moose Jaw is also famous for the Moose Jaw Tunnels, the Prohibition period tunnels used by Al Capone himself between Chicago and Moose Jaw, which we explore on a guided tour.

Winnipeg, MB
Winnipeg has been home to Aboriginal people for thousands of years, although the first permanent settlement was built in 1738 when French traders built the first fur trading post called Red Fort. What is now the city of Winnipeg

Sault Ste. Marie, ON
Sault Ste. Marie, the second largest steel producing city in Canada, is located on the St. Mary's River, which is a natural boundary between Canada and the United States.

Toronto, ON
The fascinating city of Toronto, Canada's most populous city and the capital of Ontario. On the shores of Lake Ontario, the skyscrapers of Toronto seem to come out of the water and touch the clouds. In addition to being a commercial and financial power, Toronto has successfully positioned itself as a thriving arts community where music, theater and film come alive.

Kingston, ON
Kingston, known as the "City of Limestone" for the number of granite buildings in the city, is located on Lake Ontario and is a gateway to the pristine Mille Lacs.

Montréal, QC
Montreal, a fascinating city where modern cultural influences mingle with history, located on its own island, where the Ottawa River and the St. Lawrence River meet. Montreal is the perfect city to spend a free afternoon exploring. It is also a city that continues to evolve and flourish in ways that attract and intrigue all lucky people who have the chance to visit. Whether it's art, history, music or culinary creations that interest you, you're sure to find them in Montreal.

Québec City, QC
Quebec, whose history dates back to 1608 and is one of the oldest cities in North America. Discover the Montmorency Falls, the highest in Canada, the Plains of Abraham, the citadel and the fascinating history of Old Quebec. Discover the Château Frontenac above the cobblestone streets of Old Québec, a UNESCO World Heritage site, which gives the impression of entering a European village surrounded by the only fortified walls of North America.

Saint John, NB
Witness the natural phenomenon of reversible falls on the Saint John River in the heart of Saint John, caused by the colliding waters between the Bay of Fundy and the Saint John River. When the tide goes up in the bay, it forces the water to reverse the flow, creating whirlpools and rapids in the river.

In short, this is only a glimpse of places that Daniel will visit, but it will surely experience adventures along the way, I invite you to follow his daily journey.

Have a good trip Daniel
